Summer 2023 Adventures: Ireland

 Dear Jules,

I hope you can look back at this blog as you grow older, and I'm truly hoping you can remember all of the cool vacations we've been able to take together.  This one is already starting out amazingly.  I was worried because you had not flown since 2019, but you handled it like a champ and slept more than anyone else in our family!

It felt like a really long trip--you lay on my lap the entire time and my muscles were cramping, but I couldn't move- but we finally arrived to Shannon and went first to Bunratty Castle.

Here you are pointing out the Campbell (Dad's Grandmother's) family crest.

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, in Shannon, was picturesque, with lots of thatched roof huts (we even some some workers mending these thatched roofs!).  Everything was so green and the weather was perfect.  You definitely enjoyed the park and, although you had to climb an obscene amount of stairs, you enjoyed yourself at the top of the castle when you were done.  What a view!

And there was a really fun playground too; you enjoyed many of the games and taught some other kids as well.

We took beautiful family pictures and, in what seemed like years had passed, finally headed to our airbnb, which is so wonderful.  We're staying in the countryside in the village of Adare, and they have all of these springer spaniels (at least 10 of them!).  You're really enjoying playing ball with them and petting their tummies.  Man, we miss Puck!

A perfect first day--we are really tired.  Tomorrow, it's on to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren.  And running the Limerick Greenway.  Can't wait!
